Spa Safety
Safety is the watchword in all water-based environments, and your spa is no different. By learning and adhering to a few simple tips, you'll ensure an enjoyable spa experience for your friends and family.
• Maintain constant adult supervision when children are in or near ANY body of water.
• Install fences, barriers and spa covers to prevent unsupervised access, especially by young children.
• Always completely remove your spa cover before using your spa.
• Inspect your spa equipment on a regular basis to ensure that it is in good working order and that it is safe.
• Always test the temperature of your spa's water before entering the spa. It is recommended that maximum water temperature never exceed 104°F (40°C). Do not soak for more than 15 minutes at one sitting in 104°F (40°C) water.
• Individuals with certain medical conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, and pregnant women, should not use a spa without advance approval by their physician. If a person has any doubt as to whether a medical condition should limit their use of a spa, they should seek prior consultation with their physician. Individuals with open cuts or wounds should not use a spa until completely healed.
• Never use a spa when you are alone, and be careful while using under the influence of alcohol or any medicine or product that may cause increased drowsiness, or raise or lower blood pressure.
• Ask your city about any specific rules and regulations that apply to spa ownership, including local electrical codes.
• Do not allow unsafe or risky behavior in and around the spa.
• Consult with a licensed electrician for installation of or any work to your spa. If you are installing your own spa, it is your responsibility that all work performed complies with the National Electrical Code and all other applicable codes and regulations.
• Your spa's jets, grates, skimmer and main drain should be properly maintained and secured. Spa users should be instructed not to stick any part of their body into such outlets as entrapment and drowning can occur. Spa users with long hair should also be cautioned not to get their hair near such outlets.
• Keep a first aid kit in close proximity to your spa.
• Maintenance and safety manuals contain detailed tips and recommendations and should be read, followed and applied on a regular basis.
• We encourage all spa owners to request safety related publications from the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP), including: "The Sensible Way To Enjoy Your Spa or Hot Tub," and "Pool and Spa Emergency Procedures for Infants and Children." These APSP publications can be ordered from the APSP by calling or writing them at the APSP, 2111 Eisenhower Avenue, Suite 500, Alexandria, VA 22314, (703) 838-0083, or by visiting the APSP consumer Web site at .

Tennessee based manufacturer releases new product line when others are pulling back

ATHENS, Tennessee (November 12, 2012) - Dynasty Spas, of Athens, Tennessee recently unveiled its new Harmony Collection hot tub line at the International Pool and Spa Show in New Orleans on November 12.  The Dynasty research and development team has spent months engineering and designing the exciting four new models to better target and meet the needs of the luxury class hot tub enthusiast.  "It was down to the wire." , says VP of Engineering, Steve Busscher.  "The new parts arrived via FedX around 10:30am on the morning that the spas needed to be completed and shipped to New Orleans."

"Dynasty has always prided itself as being a leader in innovation", says Jim Jones, VP of Sales.  "But this year, while other manufacturers seem to be pulling back, we invested our time and capital into this great new product line."   Dynasty Spas has always lead the marketplace in offering the best product at the best possible price, but this new collection provides innovation and luxury that is only found in competitor models costing much more.

The new Dynasty lineup includes the Lyric, Melody, Symphony, and Rhapsody, and each spa includes multiple 7 hp pumps, 50 powerful illuminated jets, stereos, and sleeker lines than an Italian sports car.

The company incorporates trends and styles from the luxury car and high-end boat markets to offer designs that are clean, stylish, and functional.  Jones, who has been a part of the spa industry for nearly 25 years, has seen Dynasty grow from a small one building manufacturer in Etowah Tennessee to the third largest spa manufacturer in the world distributing products in over 23 countries.  The hot tubs and swim spas are sold through a network of several hundred dealers located stateside and abroad.

"As our industry experienced similar declines in growth stemming from the beginning of the recession in 2008, Dynasty has enjoyed steady growth through its close relationships with industry leading retailers and private label partners." Jones added.  "We have been lucky to grow and hold on in these tough years, but we are much stronger for it, and look forward to another great year of success for 2013."

Mike Deans originally started Dynasty Spas back in 1995 and distributed its products through a network of nine company owned stores.  The company phased out the company owned stores and began building relationships with some of the industry's largest and strongest international distributors.  Dynasty Spas employs around 350 people and utilizes over 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space right off I-75 in Athens, Tennessee.

Dynasty Spa Growth

Lucite International credits teamwork and dedication to the company's steady growth

ATHENS, Tennessee (February 1, 2013) - Dynasty Spas, of Athens, Tennessee has slowly been gaining ground as a leading manufacturer within the competitive spa industry.  This past year, their growth continued and escalated the company to number three globally among their US based competitors but in the top position among privately owned corporations. "We are pleased with our continued growth and success", says Josh Deans, President of the corporation.  "But, we are more excited about our continued job growth in this area and our ability to keep the economy moving."

John Crisanti, regional account manager for Lucite International, credits Dynasty Spa's dedication to teamwork as the leading factor in the company's success.  "Dynasty's teamwork crosses all levels of their process.  From procurement, engineering, production, shipping, through customer service, all of their employees are passionate about exceeding expectations and doing their part for the team," says Crisanti.

Lucite manufactures the acrylic sheets for most of the world's leading spa manufacturers, and it keeps close tabs on the performance and growth of the industry.  Crisanti continued, "The industry had setbacks similar to the rest of our nation's manufacturing sectors, but as we experienced a flat 2011 in the spa industry, we saw a modest gain of around 5% for 2012, and we expect similar growth numbers looking forward into 2013."

As the US economy slowed, Dynasty continued to focus on design innovation while shaving costs and lowering the median price point of their products by about 25%.  "Prior to 2008, our industry continually experienced an increase in demand for more features that kept driving the prices upward, but when times got tough, we saw that our customers had less money to spend but still wanted the highest quality available," says Deans. "It was equally tough on our dealer network, so we had to make quick adjustments to insure our mutual survival."

Mike Deans originally started Dynasty Spas back in 1995.  It quickly grew and was soon distributing products through nine corporate owned retail stores.  It is now lead by Mike's son, Josh Deans.  As demand surged outside of the local region, the company phased out the corporate owned stores and began building one of the industry's best dealer networks.  It also teamed up and strengthened ties with some of the world's largest and strongest international distributors.  Dynasty Spas employs around 350 people and utilizes over 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space right off I-75 in Athens, Tennessee.
